Hair & Makeup

A picture is worth a thousand words therefore having 1-2 reference images helps me understand your style. I always suggest selecting reference images where the model has similar features to you e.g hair length and colour. 1 hour is allocated per person unless otherwise discussed, however I occasionally run early so please arrive 30 mins prior to your scheduled time. Preparation is paramount so please follow the notes. Time only allows for clean and dry hair. Once all services are complete there will be time for touch ups.

HAIR PREP

From Casey

  • Wash your hair twice the night before and leave it to dry naturally product free.

  • Shampoo twice and then condition mid lengths to ends. No hair masks or treatments the night before. A salon quality shampoo and conditioner helps with the longevity of your style so I highly recommend using this.

  • Blow dry hair smooth and leave product free. You can use a small amount of heat protector in the ends if required - No straightening irons, hair oil, leave in treatments please. You can also leave your hair to dry naturally if preferred.

  • If you plan to use extensions, please ensure they are clean and dry.

  • Hair must be 100% dry for your allocated time slot to ensure the schedule runs on time.

  • If you have fine hair, prone to getting oily or limp, please wash and dry your hair the morning of your booking.

  • Reference images of hair style you like helps me understand your style. Please select 1-2 images where the model has similar hair colour and length to you.

  • Please wear a shirt or gown that you can remove easily without disturbing your hair.

  • A dining room chair, large table or desk and access to power will be required for the day.

  • Content maybe filmed on the day to be used for socials. Please do let me know if you would not like to be filmed. It will mostly be the back of your hair whilst the style is being created and some final images of the front.

MAKEUP PREP

From Giuliana

  • A good skincare routine is so important to ensure your makeup looks amazing and lasts all day. Ensure you are taking good care of your skin by exfoliating, moisturising and using face masks (don’t forget your lips!).

  • Avoid waxing or threading for at least 1 week before your makeup appointment to allow any redness or bumps to calm down. Waxing can also remove a layer of superficial skin which can affect how well makeup adheres to the skin, therefore allowing a week post waxing is important to allow your skin to recover.

  • Avoid any new facial treatments for at least 1 month before your makeup application to allow your skin time to recover in case of irritation. For brides, it is a good idea to visit a skin professional 6-12 months before the big day in order to devise the best skincare routine to get your skin in tip-top shape!

  • As difficult as it can be, please avoid popping pimples before your makeup appointment as this opens the pore and can make them harder to conceal.

    Fake tan and spray tans...

  • If you are getting a spray tan for your event, avoid a heavy application on the face as this can create uneven texture and affect the makeup application. Don’t worry, your artist Giuliana will match your foundation to your spray tan to ensure a natural look!

  • If you are booking in for a bridal makeup and are planning on having a spray tan on your special day, it is always a good idea to have the same spray tan done for the bridal makeup trial.

On the day of your appointment...

  • Please arrive on time for your appointment.

  • Cleanse and moisturise your skin as per your usual routine. Please come to your appointment without makeup on.

  • Wear a loose neck shirt/top to your appointment to avoid messing up your makeup/hairwhen changing into your event outfit later!

  • Once your makeup is complete, avoid touching your face (scratching, rubbing etc.) toensure your makeup lasts as long as possible! It is a good idea to keep tissues on hand and dab instead of rubbing or scratching your face as this can disturb the makeup.
