HAIR & MAKEUP
A picture is worth a thousand words therefore having 1-2 reference images helps me understand your style. I always suggest selecting reference images where the model has similar features to you e.g hair length and colour. 1 hour is allocated per person unless otherwise discussed, however I occasionally run early so please arrive 30 mins prior to your scheduled time. Preparation is paramount so please follow the notes. Time only allows for clean and dry hair. Once all services are complete there will be time for touch ups.
SCHEDULE
HAIR PREP
Please arrive to your appointment 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time with 100% dry hair.
Wash your hair twice the night before and blow dry hair smooth and leave product free. You can use a small amount of heat protector/leave in conditioner in the ends if required - No straightening irons, hair oil or treatments please. You can also leave your hair to dry naturally if preferred.
Shampoo twice and then condition mid lengths to ends. No hair masks or treatments the night before. A salon quality shampoo and conditioner helps with the longevity of your style.
If you plan to use extensions, please ensure they are clean and dry.
If you have fine hair, prone to getting oily or limp, please wash and dry your hair the morning of your booking.
Reference images of hair style you like helps me understand your style. Please select 1-2 images where the model has similar hair colour and length to you.
Please wear a shirt or gown that you can remove easily without disturbing your hair.
A dining room chair, large table or desk and access to power will be required for the day.
Please refrain from using steamers or showering once your hair is done.
Content maybe filmed on the day to be used for socials. Please do let me know if you would not like to be filmed. It will mostly be the back of your hair whilst the style is being created and some final images of the front.
MAKEUP PREP
IN THE LEAD UP
A good skincare routine is so important to ensure your makeup looks amazing and lasts all day. Ensure you are taking good care of your skin by exfoliating, moisturising and using face masks (don’t forget your lips!).
Avoid waxing or threading for at least 1 week before your makeup appointment to allow any redness or bumps to calm down. Waxing can also remove a layer of superficial skin which can affect how well makeup adheres to the skin, therefore allowing a week post waxing is important to allow your skin to recover.
Avoid any new facial treatments for at least 1 month before your makeup application to allow your skin time to recover in case of irritation.
As difficult as it can be, please avoid popping pimples before your makeup appointment as this opens the pore and can make them harder to conceal.
Please bring any touch up products including lip colours. If you can’t decide on which colour, bring a selection and I can held you choose. Avoid glitter finishes.
Lash lifts are not recommended as this makes false lash application near impossible. Lash extensions are fine and a light coat of mascara will be applied to ensure the lashes remain dark.
Research makeup reference images where the model has similar features to yourself. Please be open minded with expectations as there are many photoshopped makeup images as well as AI.
ON THE DAY
Please arrive on time with a freshly cleansed face and apply your usual skin care. This will be removed prior to makeup application.
No face or sheet masks - They can leave the skin slippery and tacky and can effect longevity of the makeup.
If you have had a spray tan and your face isn’t tanned, that’s fine I’ll even you up on the day.
If you are allergic or sensitive to makeup or skincare products, feel free to bring your own and can use them if required.
Please have a large table ready for set up such as a dinning table or desk with access to power and near natural light.
You’ll need to have touch up products such as lipstick products and a powder.
Please wear a shirt or open neck top so I can clearly reference the colour of your neck and décolletage.
If you are camera shy and would prefer to not have photos taken please let me know (that’s completely fine).
Once your makeup is complete, avoid touching your face (scratching, rubbing etc.) to ensure your makeup lasts as long as possible! It is a good idea to keep tissues on hand and dab instead of rubbing or scratching your face as this can disturb the makeup.
